mono
mono tv stand combines consumer electronics and interior design in a representative lifestyle object. It is characterized by the innovative use of material and geometric shape language.
Smooth concrete surfaces build a conical base which widens at the bottom to give the stand visual weight and stability. With its dynamic shape the upper part of mono creates the impression of lightness while at the same time highlighting the tv. To be appealing from all angles when standing freely in a spacious room, the stand features two cut away areas exposing the grain of the concrete’s inner structure. These cuts also alter the base shape to further slim its profile and to give the impression of a floating screen. Additionally the front side cut reveals the otherwise hidden cavity which is used to route a thin cable. Together these elements form a sculpture-like object, formally more closely associated with interior and furniture design.
